ELON MUSK TO MOVE HIS OFFICES OUT OF CALIFORNIA
The tech billionaire Elon Musk is moving his companies from California to Texas.
The town identified as the new location for the SpaceX headquarters is Starbase, a company town being built in the southern part of Texas.
Musk will be moving X from San Francisco to Austin, Texas.
The reason behind the move is the new SAFETY Act signed in by California Governor Gavin Newsom. The law prohibits school districts from requiring teachers to inform parents if a child wants to be identified by a different gender at school.
“Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas,” he announced on X.
According to Wikipedia, Starbase is an industrial complex for Starship rockets, located near Brownsville, Texas. It has been under construction since the late 2010s by SpaceX. Starbase is composed of a spaceport near the Gulf of Mexico and a small structure test site along the Texas highway.
The South African-born Musk is a huge fan of the Lone Star State. In 2021, he announced that he planned to move Tesla’s headquarters from the Bay Area in California to Austin.
In 2020 he moved his family to Texas.
