DU PLESSIS AND ADESANYA MEET AT PRESS CONFERENCE

September can’t come early enough for UFC fans all over the world.

UFC Middleweight world champion Dricus du Plessis and title challenger Israel Adesanya met up at the UFC 305 press conference in Australia to weigh in for their upcoming fight.

The press conference saw the two superstars throwing jabs at each other. Something the two Africans are used to doing.

Du Plessis, known as Stillknocks in the UFC world, hasn’t held back when it came to jabs over the past months. The South African beat Sean Strickland to be crowned the world title holder in January at UFC 297.

Soon after the fight against Strickland, du Plessis was challenged by Adesanya.

UFC 305 is set to take place in Perth, Australia on 18 August. Both fighters met there for the first press conference.

Du Plessis took a stab at the Nigerian who took up golf over the past few months.

“I’m glad you took up golf because that’s a retirement sport – I can understand you start playing golf.”

Over the past few months, Adesanya said he’s the only African between the two fighters.

Asked afterwards what he really thought of Adesanya, du Plessis simply said: “He’s shorter than I thought he would be.”
