EMMY NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED

With 27 nominations, the psychological thriller series Severance is leading the Emmy nominations.

The Penguin closely follows Severance with 24 nominations. The Penguin stars Colin Farrell and is set in the DC comics universe.

Close on the heels of Severance and The Penguin are The Studio and The White Lotus with 23 nominations each.

In the comedy category, the nominees include The Bear, Nobody Wants This, Abbott Elementary, and Hacks.

The number of nominations isn’t just something important to the series and movies nominated, but to the studios creating them as well.

The program's nomination leaders are HBO and HBO Max, with 142 nominations. This is a new record for the network.

Walt Disney has a total of 136 nominations, consisting of Andor on Disney+ with 14, and Abbot Elementary by ABC with six nominations. Netflix managed to get 120 nominations and Apple a total of 81.

Noah Wyle is back in the emergency room as a doctor on The Pit, which has led to his first Emmy nomination since 1999. Wyle previously starred in ER, where he was nominated five times, but never won.

Hollywood legend Harrison Ford was also nominated this year. The 83-year-old was nominated for playing a therapist in the dark comedy Shrinking.

The 2025 Emmy Awards will take place on 14 September in Los Angeles. This year’s host is comedian Nat Bargatze.
