ESKOM’S 12 HOUR OUTAGE IN GAUTENG

Fourways residents have been warned to brace themselves for a 12-hour electricity outage. The electricity supply interruption will take place on Friday 20 September.

Lights will go out at 08:00 and are expected to come back on at 20:00.

The areas affected are Lonehill and Paulshof.

Eskom said the outage is part of ongoing maintenance on the distribution network and that the maintenance aims to ensure the reliability and safety of the power supply in the area.

The electricity supplier issued an apology along with the media statement.

“We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time.”

The maintenance forms part of Eskom’s Generation Operational Recovery Plan which was launched to address power generation challenges.

Due to the plan, the country has experienced stable energy with no loadshedding for 170 consecutive days.

“The recovery plan has allowed us to keep loadshedding suspended, which is a major milestone.”
