It’s official, the world of music loved Miley Cyrus’s break-up anthem ‘Flowers’.
Music streaming giant just announced that ‘Flowers’ generated 1.6 billion streams this year and has broken various records. The song was released in January.
Only a few days after its release, the song set the Spotify record for the most streamed track on the platform in one week. It was played 96,032,634 and still keeps that record to this day.
The song kept the record for the first week and took the record for the second week, with 115,156,896 worldwide streams.
Guinness World Records reports that in just eight days, the song set the fastest tie for a music track to reach 100 million streams on Spotify (female) and 112 days after its release, it became the fastest time for a music track to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify (female).
