FUEL PRICES TO CHANGE

According to mid-month fuel price data released by the Central Energy Fund (CEF), fuel prices are to change next month.

Petrol prices are expected to increase by around 30c per litre while diesel is set to decrease by at least 26c per litre.

The expected changes are due to a rise in international oil prices which increased from around $86.09/barrel on 27 March to $90.45/barrel by 12 April.

TopAuto reports that this movement led to an under-recovery in local petrol prices of 36-38c per litre, while simultaneously producing an over-recovery in diesel prices of 20-24c per litre.

According to the CEF, 93 petrol will increase by 30c a litre and 95 petrol will increase by 31c a litre. 0.05% diesel will decrease by 26c a litre while 0.005% diesel will decrease by 31c a litre.

These changes are expected to take place on the first Wednesday of May.
