OJ SIMPSON DIES
Disgraced former American footballer OJ Simpson has died at the age of 76.
The news of Simpson’s passing due to cancer was announced by his family.
“On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During his time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”
Simpson had a successful NFL career but became a household name around the world when he became the prime suspect in the double murder of his former wife Nicole Brown and her alleged boyfriend Ron Goldman in 1994.
The trial gained a lot of interest due to Simpson’s fame and even his legal team drew attention. During the trial, he was represented by Johnnie Cochran, Robert Shapiro and Robert Kardashian.
The 76-year-old was eventually acquitted but later found guilty of armed robbery in a hotel in Las Vegas.
Simpson, known as “The Juice” was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985.
According to reports, Simpson was diagnosed with prostate cancer in February and was undergoing treatment.
