JENNA CLIFFORD DIES
Iconic South African jewellery designer Jenna Clifford has died. She was 68.
Clifford, who was diagnosed with advanced-stage cancer earlier this year, died peacefully on 20 May, surrounded by her family.
Her daughters, Shayne, Chanelle and Summer, released a statement in her honour.
“Mom’s greatest legacy is one of joyful giving,” the statement reads. “She was deeply generous with her time, her inspired ideas and her love. She always gave happily, freely and without hesitation.”
Clifford’s work was praised worldwide, and her brand, Jenna Clifford, was synonymous with style, quality and timeless elegance.
The dynamic businesswoman was also praised and loved for her work outside the jewellery business. As a supporter of women through entrepreneurship, education and mentorship, she empowered others.
“She was an icon, mentor, friend and hero to so many,” her daughters wrote. “Her character was magnetic, she was inspiring and she believed passionately in supporting others to realise their inherent potential.”
The family has said that they plan to hold a private funeral soon, but a memorial gathering will be held in Johannesburg.
Her daughters will continue to be involved in the brand and business.
