KRISPY KREME CELEBRATES TAYLOR SWIFT’S ENGAGEMENT WITH FREE DOUGHNUTS
We’d marry you with doughnut rings! That was the message from doughnut giant Krispy Kreme’s US stores as it celebrated the engagement of pop icon Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce.
When the news broke on Tuesday, Krispy Kreme’s social media post gave fans a heads-up that they’ll be running a promo from 17:00 to 19:00 (local time) that evening.
The post was designed to look like an email with the official photo of the couple’s engagement being the background. The email was signed by “Your chronically online Social Media Manager”.
“As you know, Krispy Kreme has proudly worn our Swiftie badge for a while now, and I've been... deeply committed to the cause.
“After this afternoon's MAJOR news, and as your humble social media manager, I regret to inform you that my productivity has plummeted,” the fake email read.
“Effective immediately, I am requesting the rest of the day off to process, stream love songs, and maybe eat a dozen Original Glazed to cope since those are the only rings I'll be getting anytime soon. Please consider this a business-critical need.”
The funny post ended with this: “P.S.A. to all those reading this now... the doughnuts will be here if anyone else needs to emotionally recover also.”
