MEDVEDEV HAS MELTDOWN AT US OPEN

Former US Open champion Daniil Medvedev had a meltdown on court while he was playing.

During his match against Benjamin Bonzi, a photographer entered the court just as Bonzi wanted to serve for the match.

Bonzi was leading 6-3, 7-5, 5-4.

The umpire, Greg Allensworth, stopped the match and said, “Wait, please, not now. Get off the court, please.”

This was followed by his announcement to grant Bonzi another first serve.

"First serve. Ladies and gentlemen, because of the delay caused by an onside interference, the first serve has been granted.”

Medvev was clearly not happy with the umpire’s decision to grant Bonzi another first serve as he walked up to the umpire chair and shouted: “Are you a man? Are you a man? Why are you shaking? What's wrong, huh? Guys, he wants to leave. He gets paid by the match, not by the hour.”

The crowd showed its support for Medvedev as he encouraged their whistles and boos for Armstrong. Many of the fans refused to stay quiet so that Bonzi could serve again.

This didn’t upset the Frenchman as he went on to win the match and celebrate, while a visibly emotional Medvedev hit his racket against his chair.
