MAN STAYS IN FIVE-STAR HOTEL FOR TWO YEARS WITHOUT PAYING

A man in India’s capital Delhi, has managed to stay in a five-star hotel for almost two years without paying anything.

The man booked in at the Roseate House on 30 May 2019 for only one night. He stayed there until 22 January 2022 when police received a complaint from managers at the hotel located near the airport.

According to reports, the unnamed man owes the hotel almost R1.3 million.

The complaint laid at the police alleges that the man worked with hotel staff to hide his bill.

A senior police officer told a local newspaper senior staff members weren’t informed of the situation.

“As per hotel rules, if a guest owes more than 50,000 rupees to the hotel, the staff has to inform the seniors and push the guest for payment. However, this was not done.”

So far, no one has been arrested yet and no names have been given.
