NEW BANKSY ARTWORK CONFIRMED
The world’s most famous street artist has confirmed that the latest street artwork in London is his work.
To confirm the rumours, Banksy uploaded before and after photos of the mural in Finsbury Park on Monday.
The new artwork features green paint sprayed on a wall. The artwork is situated behind an olive tree that has been cut back so that it looks like foliage. Next to the foliage is a stencil of a person holding a pressure hose.
By Monday morning crowds had gathered around the artwork to get a closer look and take photos.
Jeremy Corbyn, the Islington North constituency MP said he’s “delighted” to see the artwork in the neighbourhood.
“Banksy’s come to Finsbury Park with a bit of greenery in a place that needs a bit more greenery. We’re the most densely populated constituency in the country and I’m just delighted.”
Banksy, whose identity is still unknown to the general public, shared the before image on Instagram showing the starkly bare tree with a plain white wall background.
