ORLANDO PIRATES SECURE FIFTH CONSECUTIVE WIN
With their fifth win in a row, Orlando Pirates are keeping their DStv Premiership title hopes well and truly alive.
On Saturday, the Buccaneers managed to continue their impressive form with a 2-1 victory over Golden Arrows.
Pirates managed to dominate possession in the first half, which allowed Patrick Maswanganyi to score his team’s first goal.
But, the home side didn’t give in as the responses soon after halftime with a goal from Siyanda Mthanti.
With one goal each and the match seemingly ending in a draw with only two minutes to spare, Tshegofatso Mabasa managed to score another goal for Pirates.
The win means Pirates will climb even further up the league table, and things are looking good for them since they have another match still to play. They’re currently in third place with 16 points.
This means coach Jose Riveiro’s team is three points away from Richards Bay, who’s currently in second place.
On the other hand, the defeat means Golden Arrows remain in the bottom half of the log.
