OZZY OSBOURNE DIES
The lead singer of the band Black Sabbath has died. Ozzy Osbourne was 76.
He was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019.
News of his death was announced through a statement released by the Osbourne family: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
The heavy metal singer was known for his wild antics on and off the stage.
Black Sabbath co-founder, Tony Iommi, said the band has “lost our brother,” while bassist Terence Butler said he’ll always have fond memories of their final gig together just weeks before his death.
The band’s final gig was seen as a farewell to the band and took place in Osbourne’s home city of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
Although he originally gained fame through his band, many younger fans got to know him when he, together with his family, appeared on the reality TV show The Osbournes.
The other members of his family who appeared alongside him were his wife Sharon and two of his children, Jack and Kelly. The series was a massive hit and aired for four seasons, even winning a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Program.
After Ozzy left the band, Sharon was his manager for several years, up until his death.
