TOMORROWLAND STAGE BURNS DOWN
The main stage of Tomorrowland 2025 caught fire only two days before the festival was about to start.
While the cause of the blaze is still unknown, no foul play is suspected as local authorities investigate along with the concert organisers' health and safety department.
Local residents were urged to stay indoors to avoid inhaling the smoke caused by the fire.
The local fire service has declared the site safe and confirmed that nobody was injured in the fire that took place on Wednesday evening.
Tomorrowland takes place annually in the town of Boom in Belgium. This year’s festival features 16 stages with more than 600 artists performing.
The theme for this year is Orbyz, described by the festival organisers as “a magical universe sculpted entirely from ice”.
The festival was set to open today, Friday 18 July, and organisers have confirmed that it will still happen; the gates will just open two hours later.
This year’s festival is set to host the likes of Armin van Buuren, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Amelie Lens and more.
A full reopening is expected to take place on Saturday, with all ticket holders including standard access.
Around 400,000 visitors are expected to attend the festival over two weekends.
