VIVIENNE WESTWOOD DEAD
Fashion designer Vivienne Westwood has died. The death of the 81-year-old Doyenne of British design was shared by her family.
“Vivienne Westwood died today, peacefully and surrounded by her family, in Clapham, South London.”
Westwood was known for being the rebel of the fashion industry and often used the catwalk to showcase her love for music and punk, and her opinion on political matters.
She infamously sent a topless Kate Moss down the runway eating ice cream.
She was also controversial in her personal life as she was known for showcasing leather bondage gear in the 1970s. She infamously went without underwear to Buckingham Palace to receive her damehood from Queen Elizabeth II.
Andrea Kronthaler, her husband and creative partner, paid his respect to her through a statement.
We have been working until the end, and she has given me plenty of things to get on with. Thank you darling.”
Her colourful personal life hit the headlines when she left her husband, factory worker Derek Westwood for Malcolm McLaren, the manager of the punk band Sex Pistols.
