AUSTRALIA’S ALANA KING TOO GOOD FOR SOUTH AFRICA

Leg-spinner bowler Alana King produced pure magic with the ball as Australia crushed South Africa by seven wickets to storm into the Women’s World Cup semi-finals.

The 29-year-old tore through the Proteas lineup, taking a jaw-dropping 7 for 18, the best figures ever recorded in a Women’s World Cup match.

South Africa actually started well at 32 without loss, but once King got going, everything changed. Her spell sparked a total collapse to 97 all out, with four of her wickets clean-bowled.

Her flight, turn, and accuracy were unreal. She sent down 14 dot balls in a row at one point and barely gave the batters a sniff. There was nothing lucky about it; just pure class and control.

Australia barely broke a sweat chasing the small target, reaching it with 199 balls left despite a small wobble early on. Beth Mooney and Georgia Voll steadied things and saw the team home comfortably.

King’s performance didn’t just win the game; it reminded everyone how dangerous she is. She’s now got 13 wickets in this tournament and 25 in just 12 ODIs this year, all while keeping it tight and tidy.

Tournament favourites Australia stay unbeaten and full of confidence heading into their semi-final against India.
