RONALDO JOINS BILLIONAIRE ATHLETE CLUB
Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has officially entered the exclusive club of billionaire athletes. He’s now worth more than $1.4 billion (roughly R27 billion), according to Bloomberg.
Ronaldo, who moved to the Saudi Pro League in January 2023, became the highest-paid footballer in history with an annual salary of around $200 million.
In June 2025, he extended his deal with Al Nassr for another two years. It’s been reported that contact is worth over $400 million in tax-free earnings.
While his salary forms a major chunk of his wealth, Ronaldo has built a powerful financial portfolio off the pitch.
His long-standing Nike deal is said to be worth nearly $18 million a year, and sponsorships with Armani and Castrol have added more than $175 million. He’s also invested in businesses across Europe and owns luxury properties in several countries.
Now 40 years old and nearing the twilight of his playing career, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner says club ownership is his next big goal.
“This is my dream and I’m sure I’ll get there,” Ronaldo said in an interview. “I hope to not only have one club, but to own several.”
He now joins global icons like Michael Jordan and Roger Federer in turning sporting greatness into long-term wealth and legacy.
