DAVIDSON TO REFEREE TWO NOVEMBER RUGBY TESTS
2025 has been a really good year for rugby referee Hollie Davidson. Not only did she manage to get her name in the record books, but she was also named World Rugby Referee of the Year for 2025.
In September, the 33-year-old became the first referee to officiate two Women’s Rugby World Cup finals. She etched her name in the record books when she refereed the England and Canada final.
Now, the Scottish official has been named as the referee for the Wales versus New Zealand match at the Principality Stadium on 22 November, as well as the Rugby World Cup 2027 qualifier between Portugal and Hong Kong China. The latter is scheduled to take place in Lisbon on 15 November.
Davidson is no stranger to men’s internationals, as 12 of her 46 previous Tests were men’s international matches.
The other international Tests will be refereed by New Zealand’s Ben O’Keeffe when Australia faces Japan in Tokyo, and Luc Ramos from France when South Africa takes on Wales in Cardiff on 29 November.
The other outstanding international Test will be played in Chicago, United States, between the All Blacks and Ireland. The match will take place on 1 November and will be overseen by Frenchman Pierre Brousset.
