LIONEL MESSI EXTENDS HIS LEGENDARY CAREER WITH INTER MIAMI
Lionel Messi’s incredible football journey isn’t over yet. The Argentine icon has extended his contract with Inter Miami until 2028, giving fans more time to watch one of the greatest players in history continue to shine.
At 38, Messi shows no signs of slowing down. The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner has already achieved everything there is in the game, including winning the World Cup in 2022, Champions League titles, and league crowns across Europe, but it seems as if he still can’t stop chasing new goals.
“He’s still as committed as he’s ever been, and he still wants to win,” said Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham.
This season, Messi led Major League Soccer in goals with 29 and guided Miami to third place in the Eastern Conference, proving his class remains unmatched. He’s also a finalist for the league’s MVP award, another testament to his lasting brilliance.
When Messi joined MLS in 2023, it wasn’t just a signing. It was a shift in football history. His arrival brought global attention to the North American league, inspiring new fans and elevating the game’s profile ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
The United States will host next year’s World Cup along with Canada and Mexico.
