CHASING THE LAST 2027 WORLD CUP SPOT
The road to the 2027 Rugby World Cup is almost complete, with just one place left to claim. From 8 to 18 November, the Final Qualification Tournament will take place in Dubai.
It’s a short competition that will decide who joins rugby’s elite in Australia next year. The countries hoping for the final spot are Samoa, Namibia, Belgium, and Brazil.
Samoa enter as the most experienced side, but recent struggles have raised questions about consistency. If they can regain their trademark power and precision, the Pacific islanders will be hard to stop.
Namibia, determined to extend its run of World Cup appearances, brings trademark grit and forward strength. They’ll need to finally break their losing streak against Samoa to stay in contention.
Belgium have quietly become one of Europe’s fastest-improving teams. After years of rebuilding, their structured set-piece play and scrappy defence could spring a surprise against more established opponents.
Brazil complete the lineup after stepping in for Paraguay. Despite setbacks earlier this year, the South Americans’ creativity and speed give them the tools to shock anyone if they find momentum early.
