LUFTHANSA ADDS NEW JHB MUNICH ROUTE
German airline Lufthansa has added a new route starting in September.
The new route will offer three flights per week on an A350-900 and will be year-round with business, premium economy and economy classes.
Lufthansa has also announced the addition of another direct flight between Germany and South Africa. During the summer months in South Africa, a direct flight will be offered between Cape Town and Munich.
This means that there will be daily departures between Cape Town and Munich starting next summer. This new seasonal route will feature the new ultra-luxurious Allegris First and Business Class cabins.
The new Munich routes aren’t the only routes added to or from South Africa.
In April, South African Airways (SAA) started flights between Johannesburg and Perth in Australia.
Australian airline Qantas has announced that it plans to add routes to Johannesburg and Auckland over the next few years.
By March 2025, SAA plans to add nine more destinations to its current list, and by 2028, the national carrier hopes to add more European routes as well as routes between Johannesburg and the east coast of America.
