KOLISI AND ETZEBETH TO ESCORT DU PLESSIS TO OCTAGON
South African sports fans are in for a massive treat with two major events taking place. This weekend will see the Springboks play the Wallabies in Perth on Saturday while the current UFC middleweight world champ Dricus du Plessis fights in the same city on Sunday.
This will be the second Rugby Championship game between Australia and South Africa. The Springboks beat the Wallabies comfortably during last week’s match in Brisbane.
Du Plessis will be defending his world championship title against Israel Adesanya at the RAC Arena.
It was revealed on KFM that the Bok captain and Etzebeth, who’ll be playing his 100th Test match this weekend, will be escorting Du Plessis to the famous octagon where he’ll defend his title.
In an interview with KFM presenter Darren Simpson, du Plessis said “We’re… getting Eben and Siya to walk out with us. It looks like it basically going to be a done deal”.
“We are going to have them walk out with me. They won’t be sitting in the corner, but they will be walking with me to the Octagon, which is pretty special.”
Du Plessis said it feels like the stars are all aligning.
“The Boks are playing, they are the pride of South Africa, and then I’m fighting, all on the same weekend. Talk about stars aligning.”
