TIKTOK IN 2023: WHAT PEOPLE WERE WATCHING AND LISTENING
With more than 1.5 billion users worldwide, TikTok has become one of the most popular and most used platforms in the world.
It’s not only a content-sharing platform, but it’s also used to share new music or introduce new TV series and movies.
The number one video on TikTok in South Africa was a video uploaded by @latestsightings featuring a rhino chasing a car in a nature reserve. The video got over 5.4 million likes and more than 50,000 comments.
The second most watched video was uploaded by the user @hallebberry. The user’s video hit 4.5 million likes and showed a parody of how some male content creators overly sexualise their cooking videos.
The third place went to a video uploaded by the user @dezz_lee where he lip-syncs to a song that is about being single but sang on the beat of ‘If you're are happy and you know it’.
