BEST PASSPORT IN THE WORLD ANNOUNCED

If you like travelling and you’re a passport holder from Singapore, the world is your oyster.

That’s because the Henley Passport Index has just released its worldwide passport index. The annual index is based on the comparison of the visa-free access of 199 different passports to 227 travel destinations.

A score of 1 is given when no visa is required. This is also applicable to passport holders who require a visa on arrival, a visitor’s permit, or an electronic travel authority when entering a country.

A score of 0 is given is a passport holder who requires a visa or e-visa before departure. A 0 is also given for those who need to get pre-departure government approval for a visa on arrival.

Singapore got the highest ranking among 193 countries where no passport is required. Second place is shared between Japan and South Korea, while third place is shared between Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Spain

South Africa’s ranking fell from 50th place to 51st place, with Nigeria announcing that South Africa has lost visa-free access to the country.

Nigeria recently launched e-visas, landing, and exit cards. The country said these visas aim to strengthen border control and data intelligence in the country.

Syria came in at 102 and Afghanistan at 103.
