CHARLIE KIRK KILLED

The influential right-wing activist Charlie Kirk has been shot dead. The 31-year-old was killed on Wednesday while he was speaking at an event on the campus of Utah Valley University in the United States.

Kirk was sitting under a white gazebo and taking questions from the 3,000-strong crowd. The event took place in the university’s outdoor courtyard.

At around 12:20, someone from the crowd asked him: "Do you know how many transgender Americans have been mass shooters over the last 10 years?" To which Kirk replied: "Too many."

The person who asked the question then says that there had been five transgender American mass shooters in the last 10 years. He followed his statement with a question asking Kirk how many mass shootings there had been in the same time.

Kirk replied: "Counting or not counting gang violence?"

And then a single shot was heard. Kirk slumped in his chair with a massive wound to his neck and blood coming out of the wound.

In footage shared on social media, the crowd can be heard screaming while they are trying to get away from the scene.

Kirk was rushed to a car to take him to the hospital. He was declared dead on arrival.

It’s believed he was shot by a person on one of the roofs of a nearby building. The suspect is still at large.

Kirk leaves behind his wife and two young children.
