ITALIAN TEENAGER BECOMES SAINT

The Catholic Church has given many the title of Saint over centuries, but they’re usually old, and it’s been done hundreds of years after they’ve died.

Now, one teenager has come along and changed all that.

Carlo Acutis has become the Catholic Church’s first ‘millennial’ saint.

During a sainthood ceremony held in Italy on Sunday, the boy nicknamed God’s influencer was given the Catholic name of Saint Carlo. The ceremony was the new Pope’s first one. Pope Leo XIV presided over the ceremony in front of large crowds at the Vatican City.

Carlo, born in the United Kingdom but raised in Italy, was 15 years old when he died from leukaemia in 2006. He was known for using his love for video games and his computer skills the spread awareness of the Catholic faith.

Carlo’s grave has a webcam on it where people can watch him 24/7 as he lies in jeans, a T-shirt and sneakers.

Usually, two miracles have to have been done by a person before sainthood can be bestowed upon them. One woman claims her son, who was born with a birth defect, was healed when she prayed to Carlo, while another woman was healed from the head trauma she suffered while riding on a bicycle.

Now that Carlo has become a saint, it’s believed that several schools and churches across the world will be named after him.
