NETFLIX TO HOST ITS FIRST LIVE SPORTS EVENT

If you’re a tennis fan, you’re going to love Netflix’s very first live sports event.

The two Spaniards Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz will go up against each other on Sunday 3 March 2024 in the Netflix Slam.

The event will be hosted by MGM Resorts International and will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

So far, the two Spaniards are the only players announced at this stage with more announcements to come soon.

Alcaraz told Netflix that he’s honoured to be playing against Nadal.

“I’m honoured and so happy to be sharing the court with Rafa in Las Vegas. He’s an all-time great, of course, and his records and achievements speak for themselves.”

The Netflix Slam will be broadcast for both English and Spanish audiences.

Nadal told Netflix that he’s excited to be playing with Alcaraz.

“I’m very excited for my first visit to Las Vegas. I’m also very excited to be playing with my fellow countryman Carlos Alcaraz. I am sure it will be a fantastic night of tennis.”

Although you’d be able to watch it for free if you’ve got a Netflix subscription, tickets to watch the event live are going to be expensive though, starting at $88 excluding service charges or fees.

The Netflix Slam will be produced by the team responsible for the recent Netflix Cup and the Oscars Red Carpet Show.
