Turns out 'Tindstagramming' is a thing, so if you get an Instagram DM from a guy you were not into on Tinder, basically you have been 'Tindstagrammed'. Uggh.
Tindstagramming is just one of the many new ways people get to stalk you online. In a recent rundown of this stalking-phenomenon, Select All defines it as “The act of sneaking into someone’s Instagram DMs after failing to match with them on Tinder,” and if you’ve spent much time swiping left you’ve no doubt experienced it first hand.
Back in the good old days, you got to swipe right on someone's Tinder profile and if they did not return the favour, no match was made and that was the end!
Now everything on social media decided to get all "link-up your account to see more details" and Tinder made it possible for users to link up their Instagram accounts. It meant that you get to show off how "cool" your life is, but it also gave people a way to find you outside of the app.
And that was how Tindstagramming was born, a new age where you get Instagram DMs from strangers, which is a common complaint among women who wish guys they reject would get the dang picture; a NO is a NO!!
While it would be nice if they would just get the message and stop pushing it, what are the odds of that? You can obviously try your best to combat this plague yourself by wiping any trace of your Insta information from your Tinder profile (duh). But even that's not gonna be enough to stop the most persistent of weirdos from finding you.
There is only one real solution left: throw your phone into the ocean and NEVER look back!!
