WOMAN TAKES CORPSE TO BANK TO WITHDRAW LOAN

A woman in Brazil has been taken into custody after she took the body of a dead man to a bank in Rio de Janeiro.

Footage of the woman’s actions in the bank has been doing the rounds on social media. It shows the woman at the counter of the bank propping up the head of what seems to be an elderly man in a wheelchair and then trying to manipulate his hand’s movement in such a way so that he could sign a document with a pen.

CNN reports that according to police, she was attempting to take out a loan equivalent to about R58,000 which had already been approved by the bank but still needed the elderly man’s sign-off.

In the video, it’s clear that the man is unresponsive. It’s visible that his head keeps falling back as she talks to him and his arm is limp as she keeps asking him “Uncle, are you listening?”

“You need to sign. If you don’t sign, there’s no way. I can’t sign for you, it has to be you. What can I do?”, she continued.

One of the bank attendants then said she thought the man wasn’t feeling well and another attendant agreed. That’s when the attendants phoned the ambulance.

Paramedics confirmed that the man was already dead when he arrived at the bank and the woman was arrested.
