REBEL WILSON’S BOOK PUBLISHED IN UK WITH BLACKENED OUT TEXT
Australian actress Rebel Wilson’s memoir, Rebel Rising, has been released in the UK, but with blackened-out text.
This comes after it was revealed that the book will be published with allegations against British actor Sacha Baron Cohen during the filming of XXX.
In the British edition of the book, some text has been blacked out where the text is believed to be related to him.
A note was added to the page by publisher Harper Collins saying the redaction has been made “due to the peculiarities of the law in England and Wales”.
A spokesperson for the British publisher said:
“We are publishing every page, but for legal reasons, in the UK edition, we are redacting most of one page with some other small redactions and an explanatory note. Those sections are a very small part of a much bigger story and we’re excited for readers to know Rebel’s story when the book is released.”
A spokesperson for Baron Cohen said the blackened-out text is a “clear victory” and reiterated this position that Wilson’s claims were “demonstrably false”.
